hip_hop_fisherman
Anyone buy any of these? According to the guy at scheels this is a hot pick this year, however I picked one up and the hook is garbage. Dull as can be. Maybe I just got a melon? Anyone else have any? Bushwacker
I picked up one at the Sportsman Show too. I saw the demo in the fish tank and went directly over to buy one. Those things look great in the water whether you leave it drop or you retrieve it. My hook looked pretty good, but I sharpen all my hooks when I get them. slick814
I picked some up last weekend at Cabela's... and like bushwacker says, I normally sharpen my hooks before I go out, so the hook wasn't really a thought to me.. I'll have to check and see if they need it as badly as you say. I'd be surprised if it was more than an anomoly, though, as Berkley usually puts out great products. hip_hop_fisherman
Checked a couple at a local bait shop yesterday and those looked a lot better than the one I picked up. I'm thinking I just got a lemon.
buzbunni
I wasn't gonna give these things a second look until I talked to the rep at the Sportshow; he had some interesting comments. The comment he made that really caught my attention, was how this would be a very effective shore fishing lure. Unlike many other lures (crankbaits, etc.) this lure can sink to the bottom and then work it's way up the breakline or weedline to the shore. The way the blade is situated should make it bounce off obstructions nicely when fished in this manner. We'll see if theory morphs into reality on the shore, but I must say, I'm excited to try it. I do a lot of shore fishing, and I see this as a unique niche in the presentation department for shore fisherman especially.
slick814
buz- that's one of the reasons I thought I'd give them a try. The way that they are supposed to act in the water, along with the versitility of different actions wiith different retrieves are the main reasons. I'm thinking that they'll be great from shore! Guess we'll have to report on this one.
