TRZ
yesterday i went out and had one of my poorer trips in a few weeks and the homeycombed ice on top was extremely loud and it was impossible to sneak up on holes. has anyone else seen this kind of thing? or was it just a coincidence. Nutty Fisherman
Why did the holes run away? Sorry I just couldn't help myself.

If they ran away and you caught them then you could troll and that would certainly be a new concept in ice fishing! so haaad
Nutty, along those same lines... What's the limit on holes anyways? Let me guess...two. But there's a slot limit of 8 inches, and in some cases 10"!
WAG416
With honeycombing ice, I found it's better to leave the mound of ice and slush built up around the hole so it cannot see you coming. Pad the bottom of your boots with foam and use knee pads to crawl and sneek up to them. For holes over 10" I hope one would take into consideration a few nice pictures and an a quick release.
