Need help PLEASE on choosing electronics!!!!!!!

Question

I need some help/opinions on electronics! I run a 1750 Crestliner FishHawk and am looking for two new sonars. I want a sonar/GPS combo for the console and sonar only for the front of the boat. I am a primary musky fisherman, but I will also fish walleye and bass occasionally. My first thought was to get two X15s since they have come down so far in price. I was thinking x15 sonar/gps for the console and x15 sonar only for the front of the boat. I would like to keep total cost under $2000.00. Are the x15s a good choice or should I get something newer and/or color units. Please give me all options/opinions/suggestions!! Thanks for all the help!!!!!!!

Go color. An LMS-332c would be a good console unit and has both Sonar and GPS. A Lowrance or Eagle Color Sonar for the bow would finish the deal. Then you can get a flasher on the bow too. You should end up around $1500 for all 3.

You could also put a Lowrance 3500C GPS and 102C Sonar at the console you then have two full screens and seperate units if one goes bad. Then put another 102C in the bow. These units can be purchased for $500 each, so you would be at $1500. Of course you will then want to spend some $ on mapping chips.

You really might want to think about adding a gps up front for musky fishing. That is where I am at right know, looking for a gps for the front of the boat. It sure is nice when trying to cast little humps that you have marked on the gps..

I would pass on the X15. I would get a Lowrance 20c on the console great color GPS/sonar unit for about $1000. Since you said you wanted a sonar unit only on the bow, a Lowrance 102c is the same as the 332c, but without the GPS. The 102c costs about $450 bringing your total to aprox $1500. This is almost identicle to what I have, only I have the 332c on the bow because I wanted GPS on the bow also. Get the Lowrance/Lakemaster chip and you will love this!!
