Frabill Panfish popper?

I was wondering if anyone has heard of or tried this rod?

I have read about the Legend spring bobber rods.

the Frabill Panfish popper is a 26" light action combo designed for larger pan fish and deeper jigging techniques rated for 2-6# test I had my strung with 4#clear. It has an ultra-sensitive micro spring bobber tip-top. Just wondering what you guys think. I would like to try and get the legend that people have talked about maybe next winter.

I have been using the rod most of the winter and have had little trouble with it. There are 2 things I find slightly frustrating. One is the fact that if your fishing outside the wind makes it a bit hard to read the spring when their biting light and with light line, 2 lb.test it's hard to pass the line through the spring. Secondly, the line will wrap around the spring from time to time which is a pain.

Bobberboy, Thanks. I spoke to the owner of the sportshop in town, he suggested the 4# over the 2# as that was what i was going to use was 2#. Getting ready to go try it this weekend. probably be the last weekend to drive out then have to hoof it. Thanks for the help. Lynn

I have one that I've used only a couple of times. I'd say it's more for use in a shelter than out in the open. I might have to use it today. I haven't caught anything on it but I'm determined to catch something just to prove I didn't waste my money. I have had fish bite on it and it was easily noticeable but I've never been able to hook them. Probably because of how far the rod bent over while trying to set the hook.

bobberboy... just a FYI.. when you pass the line through the spring bobber (you may already know this) bend the last 4 or so inches of your line and put the bend in the line through the spring bobber, this makes it much easier than trying to feed the pointed end of the line trhough the hole.

well I don't know but would really like to try the legend ice rod, because I really hit the sunnie's today with the Frabill. I had to pull the vex out of the hole as it was in the way. I am looking forward to the rest of the weekend. Got my limit today. about 9-10fow, what a blast hope the are hitting tomorrow as good as today invited a bunch friends to join me tomorrow, maybe even bring the grill and such. beach area of Maple.

i have one too and i have the 20 or 24 inch on order for nexr year also as a note you can buy just the spring bobber tips from marmish and replace your rod tips with this rig view them on marmishes web-site

I have 2 of these rods. I light 26" and the deadstick 30". I love both of these rods and like was asid, I can't wait to get a 20" micro for next season.
