DARK30
LOL! That reminds me of the time I caught a Kermit and tossed him off the bridge at Orwell. He didn't paddle two feet and sploosh! Gone! Am I a bit twisted or what?

Ralph Wiggum
Dragon, mix that gas with new gas in your auto! That way you won't go broke. Two Ralphs on the board is confusing!!!

poutpro
I was out this weekend trying for cats as I was sick of chasing and not find crappies, but I had the same luck with the cats. I tried crawlers, and Powerbait catfish blood and liver balls. I just tried in an area where I had caught some last fall when trying to catch eyes, but I don't know if thats where I shoudl have been. Where are the cats holding up at now? What types of structure?
smallie_hawgin
Pout,Look for eddies adjacent to the main channel. Drop a night crawler or cut bait (smaller chunks) right in the seem between the fast current and the dead water. I usually cast into the current and let the bait drop untill it lands in the dead water. Hope this helps.
poutpro
I have tried this, but all that I get is smallmouth and walleye. Seems they are all that is in there or too aggressive for the cats to compete with.
smallie_hawgin
We tend to move a lot. If we don't get a hit on the crawlers in 5 minutes, move to another eddy. Almost all of the holes have plenty of depth right now. I look for feeding areas close to the eddies. We managed a 7.5 pounder last weekend, I managed to catch a decent 17 incher this past Sunday.... so they are there. Persistence pays.
