namtkd1
Thanks Hemlock and Eastwind for the information. I am a laker nut. But I'll start expanding my horizons a little bit and fish for other species. Eastwind, you might see me on Crow later this year. Nam
namtkd1
Hi Guys,I will be returning to Rowan Lake in a few weeks. Has the ice all melted?Nam
Eastwind
Nam,Haven't heard anything from you since your return from the Laker trip last year. I hope you are doing well. I just spoke with someone that is on Rowan and the ice is out now. We are flying in next Thursday for a weekend of ice out Laker fishing. We did well out there through the ice in January. You should consider an ice fishing trip up there some Winter.
Scoot
Eastwind,A little off topic here, but if I remember right you do some muskie chasing out of the Morson area. Have you done any sklunge hunting in Rowan? I'm thinking about giving Rowan a shot in the future.I'm getting pretty itchy for some muskie fishing! Eastwind
Scoot, I am much too lazy to do any serious casting for Muskies anywhere. I have started to troll for them in the Fall as a diversion from my two primary quarries, Walleyes and Crappies, during my annual Fall fishing trip. I am new to Fall trolling for Muskies so I am not a good source of info regarding structure, speed etc. However, I do know that there are a lot of nice Muskies caught out of the Morson area and the resort that I stay at is frequented by many Muskie fanatics. If you want to get in to more detail about the resorts in the area post your email and I will contact you.

cedarnarrowsguy
I've heard of nice trout and muskie on Rowan. Is there walleye and crappie on it too?
namtkd1
Eastwind, I didn't get a chance to make it up for ice fishing lakers this past winter. Sounds like it was a lot of fun! I will have to make a trip up there this winter. I will be up on Rowan the last week of May. Scoot, there are some big muskies in that lake. I saw one last year! I have a musky story for you. Last year on Rowan I casted for northerns in a shallow bay using a Slug-Go. As my lure got within view I noticed a big musky following my lure and inhaled it right at boatside. I set the hook and the fish leaped shaking the hook free... It was a rush! Nam
Eastwind
cedarnarrowsguy,I have always heard that Rowan has no Walleye or Crappies. But, if you go through the trouble to get there, why not fish Lakers or Muskies. Rowan is an excellent lake for both.

I have info on lodging, but thanks for the offer Eastwind.I've heard there is good walleye fishing in or attached to Rowan- I can not confirm or deny this though.
