Small/Portable generators?

Any recommendations on a generator capable of charging deep cycle batteries? 4 strokes are nice & quiet, but I'm looking for something that is inexpensive.

I have a real small one. Its just a 1000 watt generator but for charging batteries or running a flood light or stuff like that its great. I take it with me to the race track every week for use in the pits. you can pick one up for about $225 at Sportsman's Guide. They also have them for even less on hsolist. Every once in a while I'd like a little bigger one, but this can handle most things I need it for and it runs my battery charger with no problem at all.

I would take a look at the Honda portable Generators, particularily the EU line. They are small, lightwieght, and extremely quite along with many other excellent features. You may pay a little more but you get alot more!!

If it lasts three to for times longer with 3 to 4 times less problems and has a higher resale value then the higher price doesn't seem so bad. Its the classic domestic car foriegn car debate!

I run a Honda EU2000 on my travel trailer. The generator is quiet for campgrounds and runs everything in the trailer, even 13500 btu a/c if that is the only thing I run. I recomend the 1000 for your needs, you won't regret it. Good luck with whatever you go with, Junky......
