Captain B.R.K
First off- Welcome to the forum Frozenfireman. I sure hope your aviator isn't the case when you have a home going up in flames. "You'd have some serious problems then Your question is very general and you'll need to be more specific in your quest for sleeper rentals in Northern Minnesota. Are you looking at Lake of the Woods, Winnibigosh, Mille Lacs, Leech Lake
LocalGuide
If you have a lake in mind maybe call up a resort on a lake that you would like to stay on. Just ask if they have any sleepers available for you to stay in. And if its a lake w/out a resort you might be SOL.
hanson
Frozenfireman-You've come to the right spot to find your sleeper house but like others have mentioned, we have to narrow it down a bit. Some lakes may be very difficult if not impossible to find a sleeper on for this winter. But we'll point you in the right direction!
FrozenFireman
I, understand there is no night bite on Lake of the woods. I am interested in the lakes of Winnie and up not including Lake of the woods. I fish that thru a lodge in the NW angle. Thanks
ZapBranigan
While it may be true that LOW may not have a WALLEYE night bite it has been my experiance that to say the lake has no night bite is just wrong. In the few times I have stayed out in Zipple bay we have caught crappie and Burbot after hours. The house next to us caught the same and a Sturgeon to boot. Walleyes do pretty much shut off a while after dark. But our rattle wheels went off a few times durring the night even on a particularly slow week of fishing. FrozenFireman
Thanks for correcting my knowledge of the Night bite. Just posting what I was told....Eyes' are mostly nonexistant at night on LOW according to you, and I would be after eyes' when looking for a sleeper......... FrozenFireman
Any idea's on where to start?? Are the sleepers only on the big lakes??
hanson
Typically yes. About the only sleepers I can think of between Winni & LOW are those on Upper Red. My guess is they are pretty well booked for the rest of the winter. I know Matt Breuer & Woodman of North Country Guides run some houses around the Bemidji area including Upper Red. They might have what you are looking for in that neck of the woods.
