I'LL LEAVE IT THE WAY IT IS SO I DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT IT. I WENT OUT WITH MY 2 BOYS TODAY CAUGHT 10 CRAPS 1 EYE (2 THIEVES) I AM STILL LAUGHING. LEFT MY HOUSE AT 815 PM AS MANY OTHERS DID TOO. WHEN I WAS GETTING TO THE RAMP I NOTICED A CAR WITH NO LIGHTS. THAN THEY DROVE ON OUT TO THE HOUSES. BUT IT DID'NT LOOK LIKE THEY NEW WHERE THEY WERE GOING AND THEY STOPED BY MY HOUSE SO I TURNED AROUND TO SEE WHAT WAS GOING ON. THEY TOLD ME THEY HAD A GREEN HOUSE IN 9 FOW. WHERE MY HOUSE IS IT IS 29 FOW. THEY HAD NO FISHING GEAR BUT THE ONE GUY HAD A HAMMER HOOKED TO HIS BELT. AS I LEFT THEY WALKED RIGHT TO MY HOUSE ONE IN FRONT AND ONE IN BACK. MY HOUSE IS ALL BY IT SELF.TO THOSE WHO ARE WONDERING IT IS THE GREEN AND WHITE SHED OF THE POINT BY THE ROAD. ANY HOW CALLED THE COPS AND WAITED AT THE LAUNCH FOR THEM WHEN THE THEIVES CAME OFF THE LAKE THEY CAME RACING RIGHT AT ME AND I TOOK OFF. THEY FOLLOWED ME TO 95 AND 1 WERE THEY WERE PULLED OVER.. WOW WHAT A NIGHT (LOL) IF YOUR HOUSE GOT IT CALL IN ON ANY THING IT MAYBE IN THERE TRUCK.I WILL PULL MY HOUSE OFF THE LAKE TOMMORROW.
dsludge
I'm glad they were caught, fish of course. If more folks were as vigilant, there might not be so many break-ins. What did your boys think?dsludge
don of cambrige
THEY DID'NT THINK NOTHING OF IT. MY BOYS ARE 3 AND 2. BUT THEY THOUGHT THE LIGHTS ON THE COP CARS WERE COOL..
river-rat4
Thats to bad Don! I just don't know the answer. Lock your house, they break in just to check for valubles. Leave the house open/empty, then they use it as a party house and/or toilet. I can't understand the thinking behind those jerks.I hope you can repair the damage without to much work. I am very happy that you paid attention to the ongoings on the Lake and called the police when things didn't seem right. Take care- Brandt
dsludge
It sounds like you're taking it well. Good to start them fishing young. I caught a kid once in the garage going through the car looking for change. When he ran, he fell and got a bit bruised up. I helped him up and asked him if I should call the police or his folks. He said, "The police", so I called his folks. His folks brought him over every fall for the next three years to rake leaves and "sweep the garage". He came over with his wife-to-be last year for a visit. We hadn't seen him for a couple of years. Good parenting rules (pun intended). don of cambrige
I am only 24. These guys were not kids if anything they were older than me. IF THEY WERE KIDS IT WOULD HAVE BEEN DIIFFERANT. (If that is what you are saying)
dsludge
Just trying to relate the experience. It's worse when they get away with it. Had my truck stolen last winter. I did get the old Chevy back but never found out who took it. Good Fishingdsludge
rscabin
don of cambrige did you find out what or if they where charged with any thing?
Ed Carlson
ATA BOY!I hope they make examples of them. You should find out when the court date is and post it so sportsman can show up and make it known to the court this KRAP is not going to fly anymore.Sounds like you were wise and kept your distance too smart move. We have to remember these guys are criminals and the situation can get dangerous. Contacting the cops and keeping the scoundrels under surveillance is a smart move. Get all the info you can as far as descriptions and play it safe/smart.That's one for the Good Guys..about time too Eh!!!

don of cambrige
I'll bet they walked last night but if anyone is missing anything out of their house than the cops have them on there record. I don't know if they had any thing in there truck. Just so every one knows late 80's ford ranger. Has the blue headlights. Pasanger side was burnt out. barracuda
Glad you caught em, too. I got fed up breakins on Wh Bear Lk 5 years ago, I finally decided to build a retractable wheels trailer to mount it on so I could bring it home. My wife doesn't like it in the driveway, but at least I'm not replacing doors and stuff.
castmaster
does anyone know how common break ins are at mille lacs? i plan on building a 12x24 permanent to put on a lot at one of the resorts. would like to do it fully loaded, but am concerned about burglars. would hate to have to remove tv/vcr. satelite etc every time it gets used. rundrave
Would like say a big thanks and an even bigger pat on the back. Wish we could see more of this,( not the stealing ) but just knowing we have other people to watch out for us is good to know. I hope everything works out well for you, with the house, etc. Good luck fishing!
