0 Twitter
It works fine. I've been doing it for years. It frees up a lot of space in the portable with the 20#er outside.
0 Moose-Hunter
Hi Mrjigger... Welcome to FM!! With the Mr. Heater/cookers... Yes, they do operate just fine from a bulk tank via a hose. The hose your looking for is Mr. Heater part number F273701. It's the 5' Propane Hose Assembly (Swivel 1" -20 Male Throwaway Cylinder Thread x P.O.L. w/Handwheel)
0 loebs93
Getting rid of the 1 pound tanks is real nice. I got a five pound tank for the same set up and love it. With the setting as low as it goes it heats my fishtrap real nice for days with out dealing with those dissposable tanks.

0 Lostit@theHole
Got mine set up to a 20lb. I love it and if you can put the tank outside it saves a lot of room in the shack. You have to buy an hose and some adapter though. Good Luck.
0 LMITOUT
Been using mine to heat various shacks for the past 5 years. I typically only need 'low' to get adaquate heat from the burner as it puts out nicely. I bought a 12' hose for mine and use a 11 lb tank in my Otter Magnum. 0 Northlander
I also run a 11# tank and I think a 9' hose. Works great even in my Mag Lodge. Plenty of heat. Put a thin peace of plywood under it or you get a small pond because it sits so close to the ground.
0 icehousebob
My #2 son took his cooker/heater and mounted it in a wire basket that grocery stores use to hold four gallon bottles of milk. He wired it so it is suspended in the middle. It keeps it from touching the floor or the canvas and keeps boots or clothes from hitting it, and there's no tipping that sucker over. When transporting, he can carry the hose and a few other things in the basket with the burner.
