'95 Arctic Cat ZR 580, overheating ?

I have 2 '95 ZR 580s, carbed. One seems to overheat or getting warmer than other. I toke thermostat off, and still does same.

Does anybody know if water pump can go bad ? I looked at part diagram and it looks like a regular metal water pump, but since it doesn't have many miles (3500) I was wondering if it's a part that is prone to fail or do I have something else wrong in the system ?

I think you have found the problem. I used to have a '97 ZR440. I would be losing small amounts of coolant and overheating and could not find where the problem was. Eventually, I had the water pump rebuilt and didn't have another problem.

Hope this helps,

Justin

JustinG, thank you for your reply. I was wondering if that could have been the problem, but now I am sure....of course we have snow now....sled can't be used....that's my luck.

Thanks again.
