A good call

I was wondering if any body knew of any god reasonable priced duck calls?single read if possible I'm a beging any info would help

i am by no means an expert, but I like my Primos Timber Wench and my Faulks...they are cheap calls but still manage to do the trick.

I use alot of Phil Robertsons (also know as the Duck Commander) calls. The calls are reasonable and they sound great. I also use some carlson calls and like them.

For the price you can't beat the Primos wench. It sounds good and it's easy to blow. Brings in birds too.

Calls at walmart are 75% off up here. There are some decent calls there.

Although its a double reed, my favorite is a Haydels DR-85, about $15 regular price. I also have a Primos Wench and that isn't a bad call either,

bigdog- i just got a free one from waterfowler.com in the mail...doesn't seem like there is much to the DR-85, but it does sound pretty good.

Primos wench I think it was $25 and sounds more like a mallard than 80% of the calls on the market. IMO. I think Gander Mtn is still having a big hunting sale, I got a nice pair of Guide series bibs and a pair of pants each 50% off, that was a month ago. Should have calls on sale too, you would think.

For the $25 range I would definitely go with a Kwack Whacker double reed poly. I have one that sounds just as good as some of my $135 acrylic calls. If you look up the name on the web you will find the sight. There are a bunch of color combos to choose from and Skip will get the call out to you in two or three days. Another call that is in that same price range that is easy to use and really sounds good is an Echo poly timber double reed. I saw some of them at Gander for 20%.

Now really is the time to buy a call. Gander has them 25% off and our Walmart had original and hardwood wenches for $5.
