Metro Archery Range?

Try the ranges at Bwana's Archery in Little Canada off Hwy 35E (east), Schaffer's Archery in Burnsville (take Cliff Road east from Hwy 35W (south), or Capra's Outdoors (on Hwy 65 just south of Hwy 10 (north). There are a few outdoor ranges; South end of Lake Calhoun off of west Lake Street (central), another near Prior Lake(south), a walk through range in Spring Lake Park (Southeast) and another walk through just west of Champlin (west). Be careful shooting outdoors this time of year as the frozen bales at the outdoor ranges can be fun (???) to get arrows out of.

I am looking for any information on the outdoor range outside champlin. any help would be great. also the range in coon rapids seems nice but not very practical,i would like to shoot at targets that i would consider while i am hunting. but the CR range has targets out to 80 yards, now who's going to take that shot in the wild.

The range is part of the Elm Creek Park Reserve, Three Lakes Parks District (aka Hennepin Cty). Directions: Take 169 north to the 4 way, stop-signed intersection just south of the Anoka bridge (aka Dayton Road), go left (west) to the four-way stop, take your next left, which I believe is cty rd 131 (co-rec' me ifn' I's wrong!) and follow it for a couple miles, the range is on your left PAST the Elm Creek Trail access. Keep an eye out on your left for a swampy looking area and the entrance to the horse-trailer parking/archery range parking lot is just uphill from that swamp, again, on your left. There is a standard "haybale" range, 8 stations or so, with targets to 50 yards, including a tower to shoot from with 10, 20 and 30 yard targets. In addition, there is a 15 (?) target walk through range with shots from 10 to 60 yards. When the 'squitos are out, bring your repellant.
