muskies through the ice

Does anyone ever target muskies through the ice? If so, how do you go about it? Tip ups, jigging, shallow water like pike, or deeper water? I have never fished for them in the winter, but was thinking of maybe giving it a try.

I have heard of a few people targeting them through the ice. I never have because I feel that it would be too hard on the fish. I think that to get them through the ice you would just have to tire them out too much to be good for them. Having said that I have had them steal panfish while fishing in the weeds. Also have seen them just cruising around just under the ice while fishing.
