Chad711
I have the one without a battery on the side. Slow, but works. Nice in some ways I guess.
Good Time Ranger
I have the new strikemaster with the battery on the power head. I really enjoy it. It drills slow but steady and sometimes I may have 2-3 holes done before my partner gets his gas auger started, especially if it is cold. After the day is done I just bring the battery in and re-charge. I can also use it with the truck hook up or to the 4 wheeler-snowmobile.Dan
Trouthunter
Just bought the new strikemaster 8" electra...I love it. I was able to drill 10 holes over 6 hours on saturday with no problem. The cold weather probably drained the battery more than the drilling did. I decided on sunday that I would remove the battery and bring it inside when I wasnt using it, to help keep it warmer and retain it's charge. I was able to drill 12-15 holes NP. It bites really well and has good power. Best part is no gas to spill or exhaust to get everything dirty. I just leave the auger in my truck and bring the battery inside to charge. I see many advantages to the electric, and no need to drill 50 holes if you have good lake maps and a vex to measure depth before you drill. shorefisher
How good is it at re-opening old hole's. I would love to kick the gas if it can re-open holes in my perm.
