Buckshot Jigs

Walleye #1

Recommended Posts

last weekend on WInnie we had the aqua view down to watch the non bitting fish swim around our jigs. We discovered if you let your jig lay on the bottome they would at least lick your bait and attempt to bite it. The buckshot jig would work out great for this situation because it would attract some fish with the noise and give a great presentation for the fish.

It does not hurt to try different methods and jigs. YOu never know what may produce a bite! cool.gif

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

When fishing from a permanant shack they come in handy when your not spotting fish. Sometimes it takes the extra noise to draw them in. Once you got there attention you can stick with it or drop something smaller to get them to bite.

If you want rattle jigs try JR's Tackles rattle jigs. The loudest jigs I have used. The gold and silver are the loudest with the others having a more toned down rattle due to the paint on the rattle tube. I used these all spring and they were highly effective for walleyes, cats and smallies. Also work great on Lake Superior Coho, smallies, lake trout and Splake in the winter. You can see them at www.JRstackle.com

A second for JR's rattle jig I have had great luck with them. I pound the heck out of them and then I wait and watch the marcum and it usually draws fish in. Then I just shake it or twich it and most of the time the will just hammer it then.

The Buckshot Rattle Spoon is my main lure to use In our NE South Dakota Lakes, for Perch and Eye's it works great, usually I tip it with a whole minnow and sometimes I tip it with 3 waxies also waxies!!! Not sure on the Buckshot Jigs, I guess but would be interested in finding out more about them!!! grin.gif

GOOD LUCK AND GOOD FISHING!!!
