Aluminum Boat Dent Repair Shop?

Blaze

Question

OK guys - I've spent a half hour searching for old posts and haven't found what I'm looking for. I need some advice/recommendations on a metro area repair shop for fixing a decent sized dent in an aluminum boat. I called a couple dealers and have had hit-and-miss recommendations, so I thought I'd aske the REAL experts - YOU GUYS.

I know there's at least a couple of you who've had dents repaired on your boats shocked.gif. Where did you bring 'em in?

Thanks.

Jackpot - the dent is large enough to impact the performance of the boat - that's why it needs fixin'. Battle scars? Sure. This is more like losing a limb.

Anyone have good experiences they can share with aluminum boat repair shops?

Blaze I'am not a expert by any means. But I had my lund repaired at Georges Boat repair in Ham Lake He should be in the yellow pages or phone book. He's right on Hwy65 south of Viking Blvd. He did an excelent job for me.Was very thourgh on explaining the repair. I can't say he would be the cheapest but it might be one of those you get what pay for things. Otherwise Steve Bakken on this site sure seems to know what he's doing.

I have very little experience with this shop, but ValV is always on the forum with fix up boats both in need, and completed jobs. I think he's south of the cities 30 miles? ValV, you out there?

I can't say that we'd be the cheapest either, but we'd be happy to take a look at it and give you a straight answer on what it would take to fix it. It can't be much worse than the one that's in the shop now. This one had a shotgun discharge through the sidewall. Our HSOforum is down right now for some server updates, but if you want, you can give us a call and we can talk more. 507-465-8337

Blaze, I looked at boat you want to buy, and it shouldn't be too bad.

Send Steve Bakken some pics, and see what it says.

price of it is ok now, but I know for sure it will go up....I'll be surprised if it sells for less than $ 10,000
