Mudcutter
Way to go packers!!!!!! You got clobbered by one of the worst teams to ever qualify for the playoffs in 73 years of NFL playoff history. 31-17. Not even close. Even Brett Favre in all his glory and one of the best RB (Ahman Green) could do nothing agst a DEF like that of a DIV I college team. Must be proud to be a packer fan. and it happened at that , "hollowed LAMBEAU FIELD". Way to go Pack!!!! Thanks for lettin' us whip your candy ####.!!!!! Sherman's gone to LSU. Nothing more to look forward to in that dismal sportin' state until next fall. Happy Winter packer fans!!!!!!!!

buzzsaw
It's no wonder they went out in the first round of the plaoffs again this year... look at this years draft... Ahmad Carroll Joey Thomas Donell Washington B.J. Sander Corey Williams Scott Wells Who besides carroll even saw playing time?? Besides Carroll was a str8 bust! They had better have a better draft next year or it's the Packers of the 80's all over again!
muskybuck
Boy I agree. Its hard to believe that they won the division and that the rest of them in it are even worse.
buzzsaw
You know the saying "even a blind squirell finds a nut sometimes"??Well I guess it fits. It will also be interesting to see if they can sign Wahle and Rivera???
fishyguy
Sounds like Wahle and Rivera are waiting for Farve to decide. If Farve is back, the Pack is in the hunt. If not, I think the Purple will win the division next year. That said, the NFC North will still be one of the worst.
buzzsaw
From the packer page....By Dylan B. TomlinsonPackersNews.com Mike Wahle and Marco Rivera are excited about what changes this offseason could bring.Whether those changes will include either player in a Green Bay Packers uniform next season remains to be seen.“I’m looking forward to it,” Wahle said. “It’s an exciting part of my life. The uncertainty of it makes it a little interesting, but we’ll see what happens.”Rivera will become a free agent in March. Wahle is under contract through the 2007 season, but because of salary cap reasons, the Packers will have to release him or owe him a $6 million roster bonus and a $5 million base salary for the 2005 season. “We put this huge cap number in the middle so they would have to re-sign me or release me,” Wahle said.If the Packers release him, Wahle will join Rivera in free agency and likely will be one of the most sought-after offensive linemen of this season’s free-agent class. While Rivera is a three-time Pro Bowler, Wahle will be the more coveted of the two since at 27, he is five years younger than Rivera, 32.Both players indicated a desire to remain with the Packers, but know that may be difficult.“It’s really up to Mike Wahle and the Packers as to who is going to stay and who’s going to go,” Rivera said. “It’d be nice if they could keep all of us together, but that would be tough to do.”Rivera has been with the Packers since 1996 and said with the roots he has in Green Bay it would be very difficult for him to leave.“My family definitely has a lot to do with it. I’ve got three boys, and two of my boys go to school here in town. The decision becomes harder to make,” Rivera said. “If you’re a single guy in this league, you don’t have to worry about moving around. When you’re married and you have a home here and you have boys go to school here, it makes it tougher.”That said, Rivera said he has to make a decision that will be best for his family, and if that involves leaving Green Bay, he’s prepared to do that.“This is the part of the business that nobody likes to talk about. The money comes to mind and you’ve got to think about that,” Rivera said. “I’m going to sit down with my agent and my wife and figure out where we’re at and what we want to do. I hope we can come to an agreement. If not, I’ve got to move on.”Wahle said he’s anxious to see what will happen over the next few months, and said there will a lot of different things that factor in his decision.“It’s not always about the money. You want to put yourself in a good situation,” Wahle said. “If they want to get me back, they’ll have an opportunity to do so. If they feel like they want to let me go, then on March 2, I’ll have to go find another job. It doesn’t start until March, so we’ll have plenty of time to get something done if they want to.” Jackson surgery: Nose tackle Grady Jackson said he will have knee surgery in about two weeks to help correct an injury that has plagued him throughout the season. Jackson injured his knee in the season opener against the Carolina Panthers. He then missed five games and also was held out of the season finale against the Chicago Bears.“It’s pretty bad,” Jackson said. “I could have had surgery when I got hurt. But I refused to. I wanted to still play. That’s why I just kept playing.”Jackson said he would have the knee scoped initially, but expected to eventually have surgery on the knee. Despite the pain he played with during the season, Jackson said he doesn’t regret the decision to come back when he did.“I don’t regret it because I love playing football and I couldn’t watch my team play defense and play the way they played,” Jackson said. “I had to do something to come back and help them.”Pederson’s future: Backup quarterback Doug Pederson spent most of the season on injured reserve with rib and back injuries, and he said he has yet to decide whether he will return or retire.“I’m not going to make it right away. I’m just going to keep doors open,” Pederson said. “Given everything that’s going to happen this spring at quarterback, with Craig (Nall) and J.T. (O’Sullivan), I think that plays into my decision.”Pederson said if he decides to retire, he may decide to pursue a coaching job.“It’s still in the back of my mind. ... I haven’t decided at what level I would want to do that at yet. There are pros and cons at all levels,” Pederson said. “To me it’s determining which headache you want, which one can you take the most Tylenol and deal with.”
