lawdog
I don't see how this is anything but a "u pick em" game. They were one play away from a tie in both games and the first game the Pack ONLY won because of two blown fumble recovery calls and that was without Moss.I just don't get the odds here at all. I know the Vikes look hideous right now, but lets face it, these are two so-so teams without a defense between them who play each other very close and know each other intimately. SIX POINT DOGS? That's stupid money...
Eric Wettschreck
Lots of times when the teams are that close the bookmakers will give the odds to the home team. I think that is what's going on here.
fishyguy
This is from a Vikes fan. Usually, the home team will get 2 1/2 to 3 pts for being at home. The Pack have beaten the Vikes twice and are playing better than the Vikes. The Vikes are a 3-7 team in the last 2/3 of the season and going into the cold outdoors where they have a horrible record and are in turmoil. 6 points? Sounds like a good spread to me. pikehunter
It's actually up to 6.5 at a lot of places. I thought for sure it would be more like 3.5 or 4.As I mentioned in a different post:"I actually was very surprised to see the Vegas lines as high as six. Usually the line is MUCH closer to the average of the previous two meetings. To double the average spread of the recent meetings seldom happens. The other thing that can usually push the spread 1/2 point or so either way is quality common opponents. I thought the Pack's Philly debacle versus the Vikings showing in Philly should have bumbed this spread down to 2.5 from three. (Yes, I know the Vikes are bad outdoors, but I don't think the cold is worth three points.) That said, I still think the Pack will likely cover 6, even though I hope it doesn't happen ... then again, the Vikes are great to bet on as an underdog, because they always seem to come up with meaningless late points." lawdog
I agree with where you thought it would be pikehunter, in that 3-4 range. The one game was already played there and only was 3 without Moss. Here is the deal, I think this game is either just like the last two with a 1-3 point spread or its a 14+ point win for the Pack if the Vikes lay down. If you are going to go with 6 it could just as well be 14 or more in my book. I think if they cover 6 1/2 they'll win big.
Stratosman
I would take the Vikes +6, I think they will have a good showing today, but every time I think that you know what happens!
