cold one sd
PERCHJR, I was on Waubay Sat and got 14 nice perch. Didn't see ya out there. Went out Sunday morning and caught one perch. They were so spooky that they took off fast when I had one on the camera looking at my bait and a spike that I had dropped down the hole got near the bottom. When the snow made it hard to see the shoreline I headed for home. Glad to hear you got some.
tweedlap
PerchJr--Ice Cold SDI had a couple of friends on Waubay, Friday. They were on the south end (West side) They kept 14.Saturday they were on Swan, Dark to Dark, they managed a limit of perch each, 2 10# Norts and an 18" eye. That is about one perch/hour of fishing..extra tough in that wind.Sunday, they said the bite was off. PERCHJR
Hey cold, sorry I missed yah we were on the move most of the day, we covered at least 5-6 miles on that lake and nothing!!! We started out from the state ramp on the south end also and caught just a couple, so off we went, we tryed Cormorant Island, we also tryed about 4 miles east of the ramp and still nothing again!!! I talked to my uncle and he was out there on sunday morning until the snow hit and they brought home 14 perch, they fished pretty close to the refuge on the east side!!! Thats all I know for now maybe my luck will change this weekend!!! GOOD LUCK AND GOOD FISHING!!!
cold one sd
perch, We were on the south end off of Kanago boat launch and stayed about 100 yards east of the thundering herd. We ended up with 14 perch. Talked to a guy in the bait shop that said he was limited by 8:30 am. I didn't know if he was being truthful and I didn't ask where he got them because he probably would have sent me to the other side of the lake. I may be going back this weekend. If I do maybe I'll see you on the ice.
icehousebob
I spent Fri.,Sat., and Sun. on Waubay. We got Perch but had to work our butts off for them. A lot of moving and when we found them, had to try several lures and presentations to get a good bite. A green and silver Hali with a waxy on a spring bobber was the most consistant. Also had luck with an orange Ratfinke and a waxy. My partner in crime had good luck with a Buckshot and a dropper with waxies. Not much on minnows. Flash lures scared them and the less motion the better. Very light bite. We went out from Buckshot and roamed the area south from there. The only Walleyes were small ones.
