fishing for lake trout with cisco

Going to canada next week and i just bought 2lbs of cisco.

The ? is do i fish with the whole cisco or cut it up?

My preference is to chunk them up into 1 inch squares and use the chunks to tip tube jigs, power shads or anything else you want to throw at them.

have had great luck using chunks of cisco with spoons and tubes, also have caught quite a few on a whole cisco hanging from a tip up on a jig

Where do you buy ciscos in the Twin Cities area? I am going up to Crow this weekend and would like to try them. Any info would be appreciated.

I bought them at Vados in spring lake park. They cost $5 for a lb and thats only 3 cisco's

Stop in at the bass pro shop in the sunset shopping mall next to the grocery/liquor store in Nestor Falls, they have cisco's there also. I rig mine up on quick strike rigs for trout. I ususall y go to caliper lake before town and fish pike on the weed lats using the same method. Lots of pike in the 10-15 lb class caught.
