jtroop
The manual also says to make sure that if you use a 20 pounder to set it (the tank) outside the shelter during operation. The manual is pretty adamant about it. Does anyone know why this is ? It'd sure be convenient to just leave the 20 pounder in the sled.
tomfromblaine
I think it might be a liability issue, they don't want to be responsible if you blow yourself up because of a gas leak caused by something you tightened up.

Gus
I've been using my big buddy for two weekends now. I don't think I have the answers to everyones problem, but I'll report what I can. I have used it on both the disposable tanks, and on bulk tanks (11lb pancake). I had problems with the heater shutting off when I had the heat on High and was using the disposable tanks that were 1/3 full or less. Before they got to 1/3 full no problem, even in wind. When they reached 1/3 or so full I could keep the heater running by using low or med heat just not High. When I switched to the 11lb tank, I did not have any problems at all with it staying on. My main 2 gripes: You cannot get 3 hours of use on high because the thing quits working when the tanks hit 1/3 or so full. The plastic is Crud! This heater cannot take being bounced around in a sled going across the lake. Both of my plastic sides will soon be held together by zip ties for stitches because all four plastic mountings broke. GRRRR. I was very carefull on how I packed my sled but they still broke. Positives: I think I have at least figured out how to keep it going. (bulk tank or nearly full disposables) I love how quiet it is. I love the clean burn compared to a sunflower. I guess it's a love hate relationship.
