First car on Tonka??

I live on Phelps Bay Lake Minnetonk. Last week before I left town for Christmas, there was 7 inches of ice on the bay. I have not been out since, but I was just looking out the window and see a car parked in the middle of the bay. Is this guy nuts, or has the ice built up to a foot in the last few days?

I saw a guy in a jeep cherokee driving around by Locke Point and all over Carman's in circles 3 days ago. He even approached the narrows? All this in the dark. Remarkably he drove off the ice safely. Talk about big ones!

Go drill a hole and you'll see why cars are on the ice. I saw a car on the ice a week ago today.

was in browns bay last night....little over 9" of ice there along with a burly ice heave....no fish is worth being dead.

A couple cars went through last night on Bald Eagle so driving on the ice, in the metro, right now is not safe enough.
