nyiceman
Hi Everyone,I'm new to this wonderful site. I'm getting ready for some Ice fishing in NY. Still waiting for the lakes to get some skim ice. I need some advice on fingerless gloves, where to buy, etc.
Corey Bechtold
Try Sportsmans Warehouse or Gander Mountain. I picked up another pair at the Ice show. I can't remember the name but I'll find their HSOforum name and get the info to you later.Corey Bechtold

RK
Hiya, Welcome to Fishing MN... I get fingerless wool gloves at an Army/Navy surplus store. Most I've been into have bins of the things marked under 'glove insert' or something like that. They usually have both the fingerless and the regular 5-finger wool glove inserts. They're pretty cheap, so I just buy a bag full every so often. I usually carry a bunch of them when I'm on the ice, and carry them in my sled in a big Ziploc bag. When a pair gets wet, I just put on another pair. Set 'em by the heater when you get home, and they're dry by morning. I've never looked, but if there isn't a surplus store nearby, I'm sure you could find them online pretty cheap too. Cheers, RK
Captain B.R.K
Corey- if you can get a product name- great. I'll do a search on the net as well. I'm trying to find a pair specifically for icefishing so I can get wet and fish slime
Corey Bechtold
Here's the sitewww.webfootsocks.com orwww.cdsportswear.comThe cd stands for Carol Davis. The gloves I got are water resistant and don't have finger separation like some of the other pairs I have. I hope this helps you.Corey Bechtold
Captain B.R.K
I took a look at the site, the picture they provide of the gloves isn't that great. Did you say you have them? Do you use them as a base layer? Doesn't look like they would be warm. Matter of fact I have the socks and I don't think the material alone could face up to real cold temps. SuddenlySummer
I've had an awsome pair of fingerless gloves for about 5 years now. Very heavy dudy felt. I picked them up at a good fly fishig store. Thorne Bros in MN to be exact. You can find them online or check out a decent fly fishing shop in NY. aquafang
never could figure out why people use those things? Think about it. Your fingers are really the only thing that gets cold. And if the rest of your hand gets that cold its only because your fingertips already fell off! Can't say I've ever had cold palms.
arbuck
I use glomits that you can buy at Wal-Mart. Glove-mittens half fingered gloves with a mitten cover that flips over your finger tips. Warm fingers when you need them - access to fingers too, just by fliping off the glove part. arbuck

I'm not in to bad of shape now- I found my gloves that I had been scavenging around for the past 3 weeks....guess where they were???? I hate to say it, in a bag underneath the bench seat of my truck! Thought I lost them and here they where, just following me around whever I went
