Crow ICE ????

Recommended Posts

There is ice on Crow Lake, it is going to be the a while before it is froze over. I think by the second week in January it would be safe to say, that we can go out trout fishing. Lake of the Woods, the Steven's Bay area. Out by Hay island is about 6-8 inches.

Muskie Bay Resort, why is Crow so late with freezing? Is this always the case. I assumed Lake of the Woods around Kenora was the last to freeze around here. By the way, it's Duncan from Sunset Gallery (Kenora) Glad to see you are up and running on FM!

Hi Duncan, Paul and I were thinkning of going fishing this afternoon, out on Stevens Bay for Crappies. We got the sleds all tuned up and ready to go. But it is so cold 20 below this morning. I am not quite used to this weather yet.

We had such a mild fall, the ice on Crow Lake is usually froze by now. Lake of the Woods is froze about 8-10 inches out to hay island, that is not unusual because it is so shallow and there are so many small bays. Minnesota and Packers play today, it might just become a couch potatoe day. Duncan, you'll have to come down and fish with us this winter.

Hi Paul, Chris and co.

Great to see you on here.

The Warden and I are looking forward to coming and seeing you in March again. She is hooked on your place and LOW. Hopefully I can get her out on Crow this time.

I might have to make a trip in February sometime.

Take care and have a merry Christmas.

Is Thorne Bros. still going to have their ice fishing school in January or did they cancel? Good to see you aboard....it's nice to keep us posted on conditions. Have a great holiday season!.....D.J. Mickelson

Hey Chris, thank you for the invitation to fish with you. I will definately take you up on it. Time is always my problem, but I'll make time. Maybe make a business trip out of it. wink.gif Awesome way for the Vikes to win! How'd your Pack do??? Glad to have you on the Canada forum. Try and check it often, because there are often questions about Crow/Stevens Bay, and I'm not an expert down there by any stretch of the imagination.

Muskie Bay,

We are scheduled to come up to your place for the laker opener on Jan 1st (Lysaker group) for 2 nights. What do you think? If Crow isn't safe, where might one fish for lakers? Head to Whitefish bay area? I called Al Meline's place today and they thought Crow should be safe by the 1st. Any info would be great. Thank you for your time.
