blk94fiveoh
I know the weathermen can't predict tomorrow, but next week looks like some decent weather finally. http://wwwa.accuweather.com/adcbin/public/local_index_11to15day.asp?zipcode=55110&metric=0&partner=accuweather&traveler=0 I would assume it would be even colder for you guys up north. JohnMickish
You know, wouldn't it figure that this year I get to work on a nice warm inside remodel job and I purchased a bunch of new ice gear so it can be cold as all heck, but NOOOOOO.I suppose next year I'll be in a parking ramp and it'll be -20 by Thankgiving. Anyways, it has to freeze, right? I mean we have never had a whole winter like this, have we?
Blaine
We need a shift in the jet stream... Our long term out here in CT looks good for the weekend of the 18th and 19th. I might just be able to make that long without going postal
The Grebe
Mnfishinguy...3 or 4 years ago, we had a winter worse then this, hell, the grass was still growing at this time! I don't think they started pulling houses out on Mille Lacs until after Christmas? Probably has something to do with global warming, or maybe a shift in global weather patterns, or maybe the jet stream, or El Nino, to much salsa on super market shelves, to many cows making methane, something? But at some point, the ice will come, it always has and I expect it always will in my life time, as will the snow, slippery roads, bone chilling temps, ice dams, high heat bills and all the rest of the good things that winter brings and all of us hardy Minnesotans have come to expect! Hey, this is Minnesota and we have an example to set for the rest of the nation...we won't let them down!
WxMan
One of the main reasons why we are not getting that cold across the upper midwest is because of the lack of snow cover. That may sound simple or even stupid, but think of it. When the cold air comes out of Canada, it begins to modify or warm due to the lack of snow cover. Once we get the snow cover, it will actually enhance the cold. The brown ground isn't doing anyone any favors. Take it from me, its my career.
