Northlander
I just got my new 32" med walleye rod from Bill. It was even more than expected. I ordered another one just like it but in a med/light. If your looking for that 1 of a kind custom rod give Bill a call. You will be well taken care of. My rod was at my door in less than a week. They are also a sponsor helping to keep FM free to all of us. www.midwestrodandreel.com
buzbunni
Northlander,I just bought 2 new Thorne Bros. rods at the show(thanks for the advice Matt...cha ching $$$$$$$ ) and I'm still envious. I AM gonna get one of those Midwest rods as well. I'm curious whether or not you purchased the Tactical Ice Rods Plus with the red cedar handles? They sure are lookers. I'm wondering how this may enhance or hinder(or maybe they are both the same in feel) the sensitivity of the rod. Thanks everybody.
Paul Waldowski
buzbunni, I assure you that you lose no sensitivity with the cedar handle and you're right they sure look good Another thing that I really like about them is you just snap the reel on and off. CrappieJohn
Wood handles on any rod are the cat's meow. Many people think that the epoxy finish will make them slippery, which exactly the opposite....it helps create a natural "stickiness" when wet. And the wood transfers the bite signal as well as any graphite seat. Of all the naive woods available for handle making, cedar is perhaps the most intriging when it comes to beauty.
