Mr55371
Call me crazy, but after looking at the new Aqua-Vu cameras today on the internet I was left wondering if anybody has ever seen perhaps a Northern try to eat the camera itself as that it resembles a baitfish. I'm may be nuts, but it sure would be a cool thing to see.
Fergus Mor McErc
I've wondered the same thing. I recently bought an UW camera and have had reoccuring visions of a big predator attacking it. Though mine isn't shaped like a fish, it has a fin on it and maybe that's enough to get one to hit it. I hope fish striking cameras isn't a common happening. MedicineMan
I've had my camera attacked quite a few times. Northerns were the culprit, they'll hit anything that moves. Don't worry though, their teeth don't do any kind of damage to the camera.
Jim Hudson
One of the funniest things I seen with an UWC was a burbot trying to eat my camera. The fish actually had it's entire mouth over the lens. Was a sight to see.
sidecar pan fishin man
I've been thinking the same thing about our aqua view camera. I have seen the new fish skins and thats the first thing I thought of was a great big muskie taking that thing for a mid day snack. Deitz Dittrich
Yes its true, fish have tried to eat the camera. However, I know for a fact that the cable on all aqua-vu products have 300 lb kevlar woven around the inside of the cable for reasons just like this. No fish in MN will hurt that camra.Deitz DittrichAqua-Vu Prostaff.Fishing Minnesota.com Prostaff
Matt Breuer
Pike and muskie will attack the cams, I've only had it happen once and it was a tap. I bet the 'pout was funny! The new cameras aren't bulky at all in my opinion. I think the new camera's are great!
JimJ
If California had ice fishing there would probably be a "Saturday night live" skit with a musky down under ripping away at a guys new camera (that he's been bragging to his partner about how great it is). Meanwhile the fisherman is tugging away at the "high strength kevlar" cable to save the camera from going down the hole as the musky rips, the fisherman get's his head thumped repeatedly against the ice.BOY, NO ICE CAN SURE GET IN A GUYS HEAD.
