BradB
PikeTipper,I've downloaded and read the use and care manual for this device, and you do can hook this between your underwater camera and your computer, without having a separate video camera. Again, I'll say that I haven't tried it yet so I cannot confirm this. But this is what the product literature, and the various HSOforum say.As far as memory, you can save as much as the hard drive on your laptop can hold. I don't know yet how may MB of memory a given period of time at a given frame rate takes up, but I would assume that it wouldn't be a great deal. I plan to make short (10 second or so) videos and I can't imagine that would be more than a few MB.The power source is your laptop battery. I have a 12V adapter to my laptop that I'll run off my bank of 3 deep cycle batteries. So I can run for a long time.
PikeTipper
I misunderstood. I was thinking that you were going to just connect this to the Aqua View and nothing else but I see you are also connecting it to your PC. Makes more sense now, I might have to look into that. BradB
I'll let everyone know how well it works, when I get to test it out. The limiting factor in this is when I get my camera. I'm hoping that they get it out soon, and I don't have a similar experience like I did last year with another company. I remain hopeful.
