Zebra Mussels

I'm looking for help in removing and keeping off Zebra Mussels. I keep my boat on Lake Winnebago in Wisconsin. The boat slip i have does not afford my to get the lower unit out of the water. any help is appreciated.

dib. i don't have to deal with the prob. but do wonder if a person could get some very fine netting and place it over the lower unit like a dip net? del

I heard tellof one person who hooked up one of those electrifying units, used to charge downrigger wires by salmon fishermen, to his lower unit (outboard) somehow and it kept them from attaching. I have no idea how sound the story was , but....

How about just tilting the motor or is it a IO? I dont know of anything you can use to keep them off. I know all the places around Duluth that have outlets into Superior Bay have screens but they still have to clean them several times a year.
