Sandbar
Well, it's nice there will be some new material for the Favre lovefest this year.
freebledsoe
Already coming up with excuses to fall back on for his poor performances this year... add it to the perpetual "my thumb was still sore" classic.

Whaaaaat? We have to remember..... Brett "rededicated" himself this year. I don't think he'll throw any interceptions. All B.S. aside, being a Purple fan, I am nervous every time Favre steps on the field against the Vikes.
fishyguy
My initial thought on Farve's story was why is this a story now and not last year or five years ago. Also, if he "rededicated" himself and finally got into tip top shape, shouldn't somebody ask the question, Why now? Where was this dedication and commitment to health before. He has always been great but was there another title in him had he been is shape? Maybe a few more wins? Sorry to the Pack faithful, if I come off sour on Farve, I am a fan of his ability when I don't have my purple jersey on, but if you have to work harder to be where you want to be means that you had room to work harder before. If he was the 110% warrior before, is he the 120% warrior now? Maybe he only was giving 90% before?
Down to Earth
To me its really not a story now either. Not sure why it wasn't out prior though. If it was really that big of a deal it would have been talked about more during the trade and during the late '90s.As for the in shape issue, I think its something pretty common for professional athletes who are entering the twightlight of his career. They play many years without doing extensive off season conditioning, etc. and still have great careers and then as they age realize you know it wouldn't hurt if I did more off season conditioning. They go out hire a personal trainer and work to maintain their conditioning. I know there are some exceptions to this, but I bet in professional sports across the board this is pretty common. Unfortunately most don't end up having the length of career Favre had to apply it.Just my thoughts.Andy
Green&Gold
The only reason this story is surfacing now is that Ron Wolf visited Packers training camp earlier this week. Of course he spent some time reminiscing with Brett and the reporters gobbled it up. They saw an opportunity for a story coming out of Wolf's comments regarding Brett's first season with the Pack. Just for the record, Favre said something to the effect that although it bothers him from time to time, its really no big deal. Its basically an annoyance and nothing more. However I do agree with you Vike fans, more than a few unnamed reporters/broadcasters will use this tidbit of info to make the legend grow even more.
