Mule deer in SW MN

Hunted pheasants yesterday near Hendricks. Jumped 2 bucks that I am positive were Mullies. They hopped and had huge ears!

Good deal, to my understanding, I'm 90% sure you can shoot mulies in MN, but dont qoute me on it. Any pheasants?

because of the crappy weather, we watched 1 place we knew had birds- waited to see em fly and took off after em. saw 9 roosters + 7 hens fly to edge of corn field. got our limit by 9:45- jumped the 2 mulies on way back to truck.

Mulies pop up in Minnesota in rare occasions, and they are fair game.

Yep, not common but not unheard of. Someone even shoots one here in Southeast MN every few years.

Hey Seamonster sounds like you did a little better than last weekend when I was with you. Talk to your other hunting partner from last week. He had someone bag a muley doe a few years ago on his land (South Central MN). I would have liked to have been with you to see them! I might try a little closer to home myself one of these nights. I'm starting to get pumped for the deer now!

How big were their rack? that is the most positive way to tell the difference between a mulie buck and a whitetail buck.

I was elk hunting in NW colorado 2 weeks back and I saw four whitetails with huge racks running together. Never seen anything like it in my life.
