echotrail
I had a Eddie Bauer tent a few years ago and had zipper problems also. I bought the Cabela's xwt (Extreme Weather Tent) this spring and love it. Check their online catalog for camping and watch the video about this tent. It's a quality item. valter
My family and I have been camping regularly for the last 15 years. We had a Eureka 4 person tent that we used until we outgrew and bought the Eureka Blue Mesa that is huge. The wife and 3 kids have lots of room now. I love the eurka tents. They cost a little more but are more than worth it and will last forever if you take good care of it. They have great ventilation and shed rain nicely. Like anything, you usually get what you pay for.
backlash 1
I also have had no probs with my Eddie Bauer tent. (3 years old, used probably 12 times)I know the instructions say to have the doors zipped closed when setting up or taking down. I don't know, maybe that could reduce the stress on the zippers. O2BFSHN
I am all out Eureka! The problem with Eddie's are their seems are at the wrong place. They are along the bottom of the tent. So when and if water runs alongside your tent you will most likly have an issue. Eureka's wrap up about 8 inches so the seem is prtected. The extra money was worth my time! jonny_redhorse
i just bought a tent from cabela's earlier this summer.."outback" series of outfitter tents($200.00)...i've always had problems putting those big dome tents up by myself(because at times i camp by myself)...this one goes up with one person in about 10 minutes(one shock-corded pole in the center,4 smaller corner poles).no rain fly needed..spray vinyl coating inside...i've used it a few times and love it(no leaks during a heavy rain)...big enough for my oversized slumberjac cot and a folding aluminum table(2'x5') and all my gear..mine is 10'x10'(also 12'x12') center height about 8 1/2'...here's a pic...jonny
