Looking for new tent

I am looking to get a new tent for family camping. I was wondering if anyone has any tips of suggestions as to size/type/features.

Thanks
Scott

I've got an Eureka Equinox 4 and wish I had the 6. The 4 was great when the kids were little. The 6 is great; plenty of room to lay out six large bags and you can stand up in it.

We got ours at Glen's Salvage in Grand Rapids.

I have a family of six so went with the Cabela's Alaskan Guide Model. I have an 8 and a 6 man connected by the deluxe vestibule. We absolutely love it!! The kids are still young so having the two connected by the vestibule provides a little piece of mind for both kids and adults - especially when the raccoons start ransacking the campsite. The whole set-up is quite pricey but very well built, very roomy and would not budge in a hurricane.

I have a Kelty tent, and it has been the best investment I could have made. I will admit, they are a pricey (list on mine was close to $400 for my 3 person) but this thing is Hurricane proof. First weekend I had it out a couple years back, we were hit with 14" of rain in the matter of about 12 hours, amongst lightning, winds...etc. When we went back the next morning, the tent was dry as could be and did not budge one bit. I went the route of buying a high quality tent, because I love to camp, and the boat comes with me...and I am not about to use one of those campers that sit in the back of a pickup bed. REI carries them...again, pricey...but you do get what you pay for!

I work in the camping department at sportsmen warehouse in coon rapids, swing in and take a look at what we got, but I would second KELTY, they are top of the line, great warranty(full-lifetime) double stitched over lapping seams, they set up easy, stretch tight, lightweight, perfect tent for anyone, highly recommend it.

save your money and buy a coleman with the waterproof floor. they are 1/2 the cost of others. we just spent a week in VNP, survived numerous days of horizontal rain and wind, our tent never had a drop of water in it. we bought one at target, and one at menards. you won't be disappointed.

I was on the eureka tent HSOforum they have some 2nds. and closeouts that looked cheap. My brother in-law's family and my own have been using Eureka for years and have never gotten wet. I recommend them to everybody.
