problem with my minn-kota

smallmouthking

Question

I have a friends minn-kota transom mounted trolling mtr. nothing fancy, an 32# endura but it will not work properly in the forward position. i get very little thrust and it will give me some around the 2 setting, yet reverse works just fine. any ideas would be appreciated, thanks

There are two screws under the powerhead that attach it to the shaft.

Remove the screws and carefully turn the entire powerhead around and replace the screws.

Now it will give you the power you need in the right direction grin.gif

the thing everyone is trying to get across is that for the Push-bow first, the prop should be behind the elec motor. Pull-stearn first (backtrolling), the prop should be between the stearn of the boat and the (elec)motorhead will be leading the way. the head may have been turned to make it a backtrolling setup. easy fix, change the polarity, +/- or turn the head as Chells said.
