18 FT Center Console boat w/125 HP Outboard & trailer

Recommended Posts

I have for sale a 1989 18 Ft Starline fiberglass center console boat with a 125 HP Force Outboard and a Glasryde bunk trailer. It is two tone gray / metallic blue with white upholstery. I bought this boat as a project boat in the spring of 2003. It was originally used off the Florida coast in the Gulf of Mexico. The boat is in average condition, the sun and saltwater has oxidized the gray paint and I have found it impossible to make it shine, it also has some scratches in the gel coat above the water line from banging into the dock. The metallic blue part looks real good. The boat has an 84 inch beam and the inside height from floor to top of gunwale is 30".

The boat has a bilge pump, aerated live well / bait well and another fish box under the seat in the front of the center console. There is a leaning post driver's seat with lockable storage and 4 built in "rocket launcher" type rod storage tubes. The leaning post does not have a cushion on it but there are snaps in place for one. I put an Eagle Z - 7200 depth finder with an adjustable R-A-M mount on the dash. Dash has Speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge and volt meter. It has a 42-gallon below deck Aluminum fuel cell in it. It has triple horizontal rod storage racks on each side of the gunwales. It has 4 flush mount angled tube type rod holders and it has 6 rod holder bases designed for "Fish On" or "Action " brand adjustable rod holders (rod holders not included). I sanded and re-varnished all but one piece of the woodwork.

The motor is a 1989 Force 2 stroke NON-oil injected motor with power tilt and trim, it has a Michigan stainless steel 3 blade prop. It has 120+ lbs. of compression in all 4 cylinders. The lower unit was out when I bought it. I bought another 125 HP Force with a blown power head for parts. I put the lower unit from the blown motor onto the good motor and also replaced the water pump impeller. The blown motor comes with the deal, there are a lot of good parts on the blown motor, (carbs, ignition modules, power tilt/trim, etc.) Force has a less than stellar reputation for their motors, but this one seems to run fine, trolls down to 1.5 MPH and tops out in the low 30's (according to my GPS).

The Glasryde trailer is in fair condition. It takes a 2" ball hitch. I put new taillights and wiring harness in it. I put new wheel bearings and seals in the hubs, had the rims blasted and painted and installed new 205 75R14 radial tires on it. The fenders are in poor shape from the saltwater exposure and should be replaced and the carpet on the bunks is coming loose.

Extras included with the deal: Force Outboard service manual, anchor, anchor rope, mooring rope and marine fire extinguisher. Skegguard Stainless steel fin for bottom of outboard motor and a brand new Marine starting battery.

I like the boat, it is one that is not seen often in this part of the country and attracts a lot of looks on the water and on the road. It is heavy and is too much boat for a lot of small lakes with poor public accesses. It is a perfect big water trolling boat for something like Mille Lacs, Lake of the Woods, Etc. Asking 4000.00 or best offer. Pictures available by request. Reply to post with your E-mail address with any questions.

Scott Lee
