help on a boat deal!

I am looking at a 1983 alumacraft backtroller '17 with a 1979 35hp Johnson. Boat is in very good shape, has an old trolling motor(transom), and a trailer (bearings need to be re-done). What would be a good price on this boat? They are asking $3,000 which I thought was plenty high.

Any thoughts?

I sold a Lund/Evinrude/trailer combo of about the same age last fall. Started out asking around $2,400 and took considerably less to get it out of the yard because we were moving. I'd say $3,000 was high.

Last year I sold a 1981 Alumacraft Backtroller w/ 1981 50 HP Merc (same year) for $2700. I would say the price is a little high.

I would think that it would be worth in the 1400-1600 range. The motor is only worth around 450.
