Experiences with 2 wheeled deer haulers

Recommended Posts

I am looking at getting one of the 2 wheeled collapsable deer haulers. There seems to be the standard size (70 x 19)and the magnum size (84 x 20).

Anyone use these things and what do you think of them as a one person operation? Standard or Magnum?

I have used the 1 wheeled ones that are meant for 2 people and they work well with 2 people. I have used the Deer Slayer and liked in in the snow.

I mostly need this for W.M.A. swamps. I usually go back into the swamps a waze.

Thanks for any input.

Deer-sleighers, or just about any kind of sled, work better than carts, in my opinion. Cheaper, lighter, and they usually work better, especially in rough terrain. They are not as much help carting in stuff, but other than that they're great.

I agree that the carts can be difficult to handle when moving deer out of the swamp, usually because of grass humps or logs under the grass. A sled will probably work better. In the woods where there is less ground clutter, the two wheeled carts are awesome until the snow gets deep.

Carts work well in dry conditions and fairly rough terrain. But with snow on the ground or harling in the swamps I'd opt for a sled.

The carts also work well for hauling multiple deer at a time(magnums).
