Snow storm and Deer traffic

Recommended Posts

Hey Hammer...hunt the storm. I've had some good success before and during. The biggest 8 point I ever shot came out in a bad snow storm. I was kicking myself for hunting a Sunday evening while it snowed like mad knowing I had to drive 3+ hours(4+ in the storm) after the hunt. It was very similar to this weekend's predicted conditions.... bucks milling off the rut and storms brewing.

Well, I setup on an active scrape line. Passed a 6'er at around 4:00 pm that came in with the breeze. Took the 8 as he passed 45 yards down wind of the scrape...he was coming to freshen them up.

That drive wasn't too bad with him in the truck bed!!

I was coming home from Grand Rapids this evening in the beginning of our blizzard(now) and saw a nice 10 point roadside on hwy 2 between swan river and floodwood. At least one deer is obviously still moving.

I hope to kick a couple out of bed tomorrow and get a shot. Its going to be an interesting last day with snow predictions of 8-16" in my area.
