Open water closing in & 6" ice shattered when i pushed it down under. Stuck a pair of 24"s for some tacos & no regrets for dis slushie mothballing da gear. 

Anyone else got pics. of this years last ride?

Jeeez Ronnie I'm like what, where's a lake with no snow and melting??   Then I remember you live in Detroit!

Our spearing closed a couple weeks ago but in reality most folks are done spearing before it closes anyway.  We still have almost 3 feet of clear, hard ice around these parts.

 

I’m assuming that half moon head device you have there is your chisel?  Never seen one like that before.

Works great as a spud too. I kept it after i sold the ice saw & upgraded to a cordless one, too old for that routine anymore
