dan z
550 is going to ask for power when loaded. My pick would be Polaris wide track with the big motor.
leech~~
SkiDoo, Arctic Cat and Polaris all make good long tracks for Ice fishing setups. I would go with a fan and you may want to pick one with a dealer around you for parts and service.

redneckdan
I have a lot of seat and wrench time on the 550-SWT while working at a ski hill. That engine is bomber. One of the best fan cooled engines ever developed in my opinion, second only to the 503. In low gear with a studded track it will pull stuck cars out of a snowy parking lot. They are a tank, need the rear suspension tuned for the towed load in order to turn well. An atv winch mounted on the rear is nice, a high lift jack is handy too. Most of my repair time on them was fixing stupid...
