PurpleFloyd1529315463
I am looking to buy one of these to pull my clam Bigfoot 4000 and the rest of my gear with a snowmobile. Gander has them listed with the hyfax runners for 89 dollars but they are showing that they are not available within 250 miles for in store pick up and they want 180 dollars freight from Clam . Does anyone know any retailers that stock them or of they will be available from any vendors at the ice show in St Paul?

PurpleFloyd1529315463
Yeah, I did that Leech but go ahead and try to add it to the cart and choose the instore pickup. It doesn't have any stores that show it is in stock, there is no option to ship it to the store free and when you try to have it shipped to your house, it charges 180 dollars. Does Clam even make this sled any more?

PurpleFloyd1529315463
Well,I did consider that and may do it if necessary but considering it is black friday weekend and such and since there are guys on here with connections, I figgered maybe someone could give me the inside scoop sooner since I ork during normal customer service hours. Jim Kusuda
You may want to print the product description from Gander and bring it in to your local store. An associate may be able to check and see if it is available.
leech~~
Fleet Farm also has some pretty big sled-tubs there but have not checked the cost on them? I know these aren't cheap but you can find used ones, this sled is the best one I ever had for pulling gear and giving kids rides on the back of a sled. They ride very smooth and I have pulled them at 45-50 mph fully loaded with gear and they go better in deeper snow then the tubs. And I like the way they fold down for hauling on the trailer and storage. Also, your gear doesn't fly out of them when you hit a hard bump and the bottom of the tubs flex and throw your gear in the air!

It works but it isn't exactly light and I have some knee issues. So for the price this seems like a pretty good option to look at if I can get one. I plan on using it for ice fishing, not the indy 500 so high speed handling isn't an issue as my other one can cover that ( It has RACING Skis!) . So thanks for all the input but I already covered everything you brought up. I was looking for someone that reps for clam to let me know if they knew anything or if there is a chance there will be any at the ice show. If you know of any similar sleds that are available at the same price, feel free to let me know.

PurpleFloyd1529315463
I think I located a Shappell. Tried both Clam and Gander but got nowhere.
Jim Kusuda
I think that one is an inferior design. The Clam has a shape that really pulls well over variable terrain such as bumps and drifts without spilling or filling up. They don't come with additional hifax runners, that is the description of the molded base. I have the old original small one, now they are a bit wider but still really a superior shape. I thought that it looked funny at first, but after using it and treating it rough, I was convinced. I have been at Gander Mountain when an associate looks up product on their computers and they tell me which stores have it in stock. The public web access is not as accurate. I don't know if any retailers will have it at the show so can't help you.
PurpleFloyd1529315463
Design does you no good when the customers don't have access to it. And I don't consider a 180 dollar freight charge to be considered having access. Obviously if clam had a retailer that stocked it I would be a buyer but that doesn't seem to be the case.
