Garett Svir1582813971
The Sonar phone has really provided to be a great tool for me this season. Being able to cast the transducer has allowed us to pin point exact locations and then use a combination of rigging and power corking to get them to eat. My wife managed a personal best last week with this 31" that she released.

SkunkedAgain
At times us men forget how much better/luckier our wives are at fishing! So what are your pros and cons for the Sonar phone? I almost got one last winter but held off.
JimW
Anyone use it for ice fishing? If so how was it?
Tim Moore
It works, but since it has such a wide cone angle you end up with a lot of surface clutter. The thicker the ice the more surface clutter you have.
JimW
Annoying clutter or does it make it unusable i For ice fishing?
JimW
How wide is the transducer?
Garett Svir1582813971
I have not used it for ice fishing YET but can say it has been an awesome tool to have in my boat. Pros- Would be the fact that I can cast the transducer, works well in areas that you cannot run with the boat, areas you want to pin point specifically where the fish are located for power corking, shallow areas where you don't want to run over the fish to look and from shore. Tim Moore
I wouldn't say the clutter makes it unusable, but keep in mind that since it was designed specifically for open water, Vexilar didn't use the same barium-titenate crystals (which perform better in extreme cold) that they use in their flashers. I'll be sticking with my flashers for ice fishing.
B-man715
What the heck is "power corking"?
Garett Svir1582813971
Looking for fish on electronics and dropping slip bobbers directly on top of them. If we don't get them to bite in a few minutes we go look for more aggressive ones.
DTro
It’s something invented by the “pros” to not have to tell people they are bobber fishing. Power corkin sounds much cooler and the term goes well with their jerseys. If you really want to see legit power corkin, watch the redfish guys down south.
