Eelpout near Superior

Where do they fish them near Superior? Willing to trade a few good spots down by Birchwood, WI if someone puts me on some up here. Never caught one before. Thanks in advance

The easiest spot coming from the south would be the Nemadji river. They fish pout right in the section of river east of Hwy 2. You will also catch them on the bay, but there is still shipping traffic so ice is iffy at best now (and we got a lot of snow last week).

One other spot that is up the St Louis river, is off of Boy Scout boat landing. This is on the Duluth side, at the end of Grand Avenue.

I have no info on how the ice is in any of these 3 spots, but pout are taken at all three.

Thanks alot, Since I moved up to Superior, I havent had much of a chance to ice fish much, but this year I finally get to. Of course, most of the fishing will be back home, but dont feel like driving 1.5 hours to fish every chance I get.

Man I miss living up there, I used to fish the bay 5 nights a week! Never really got into the pout though.

Caught this nice pout last night. Put up one heck of a fight (as thy always do). Xplorer gave some good info for ya there. Ice is walkable I have been able to venture out since Saturday, and sea only going roger better with this cold. Good luck!

st.louis bay off of park point is always good for a few pout.
