I am looking ahead to ice fishing and I have humminbird units on my boat and was curious if anybody has or knows a good way to mount a 998 in a vehicle, Its not internal so the puck needs to be placed somewhere. Just trying to get ideas! Thanks.

Yep. Has no problem getting signal when on the dash.

Gator clips will work.

I just left the bracket/ram ball on the unit so when it sits on the dash i can adjust the angle of the screen by adjusting the bracket/ram ball.

Before the ice is truck travel ready i attach my HBird to my otter sled with a ram mount, screwed the puck to the sled.

Awesome. I am looking to mount one of my internal antenna Humminbirds on my Bearcats. Anyone with experience here? They have kind of funny spots on the center handle bars. Anyone have a close up mount pic??

Thanks men!! Never too early for "Cool Thoughts".

Chris,

check the ram mount HSOforum. they have different mounts that allow you to mount a finder to a handle bar. another option would be to use the normal mount and mount it someplace other than the handle bars( IE : the dash)

meet up with Genz and check his Bearcat out. he would be the one to talk to.
