I am also looking into buying a one man shack. I have borrowed my buddies Jason Mitchell before. The lakes that I fish are mainly clear/sight fishing lakes. However, I have noticed using his Jason Mitchell that it doesn't block light out very well and it makes it difficult to sight fish. I think the Jason Mitchell is an excellent one man shack, outside of sight fishing out of one. Wish they would have made it with black fabric instead of grey. Any suggestions on a better option for a one man shack?

Welcome to the forums Maskeeter! The fish trap pro, I believe, is the exact same thing, only with a dark inside. I run the scout TC, also excellent one man for sight fishing. Good luck!

Cyberfish - Thanks for the insight. I finally pulled the trigger on a scout TC and like it. It is a great one man shack and it works excellent for sight fishing. Thanks again!

I have the JM Pro Thermal and my dad has the Scout TC, both are great hole hopping shelters and we like them. I like to have 2 or 3 rods ready to go so I like the extra width of the Pro.

For site fishing, there are better options than the JM: I love the JM for the benefit of the thermal, the lights and all that goes with it. However, for guys who fish shallow/clean site fishing lakes, go with either the Pro TC or the Scout. The Big Mouth TC also is a nice option, if you can find one at a Gander Mt. store! They expand in the front, giving you a nice area to put your heater and vex!

I have even fished my girl and i in it together a bit tight but she sits by the front door with a hole by the sled and I have my hole by the door and it works out. Put the heater in the sled and we were pretty toasty

Haha funny, I do the same thing. Took the seat out and replaced it with a big cooler for us to sit on. Very cozy with two of us in there but big enough for 2 smaller people to be comfortable.

I have an otter cabin as well but still opt for the JM Pro when fishing with my fiance because it is so much easier to get out of the truck and move around basically by myself. Also much easier to keep her warm in the Pro vs. the Otter. Last time out she even asked me to shut the heater off... my jaw dropped.

I know what you are saying Fred. I am just happy to get my gal to go, Now If I could get her to stop saying that I am stealing her fish and admit that I am just a better fisherman I would be ok
