masoct3
Hi all, I am still trying to figure out how to eliminate, or at least cut down 75% or more of the condensation that rains on my head. Again, this is the Clam Base Camp, brand new. I love it. Does putting any type of material on the outside (like a tarp) do anything? Will the material (whatever that may be) need to be in the inside? I am obviously thinking if it is inside, I can use the poles to keep it intact (and over my head). I would like a material that is large but not very large to cover simply the ceiling and be tucked under the poles. I have no ATV, so I will be using a sled on skis to pull my things. I wouldn't want to piece together Reflex (in the 2 foot wide sections), as I can see this be a problem packing up and leaving, making my sled with less room than it needs. Thanks all! Matt C
I have a base camp too. Love it as well. I have not had a bad condensation issue. I am using a Big Buddy Heater. What are you using to heat it? I also am pulling mine in a sled, with no ATV, so space/weight is an issue for me too.
sunniewally
using a tarp over the top will help
Gus
Keep a couple vents open. Let the moisture escape. I don't have a basecamp, but in any of my flip overs it'll rain also unless you have a vent or 2 open.
masoct3
Hey, I bought it just this past month, so it is still brand new, ready to be used. I will be using the regular Buddy Mr. Heater, with the 1-lb propane tank. Thanks for the info! I have a base camp too. Love it as well. I have not had a bad condensation issue. Franco
Hi I have 2- not base camps but I found if you get a couple 4 0r 5 inch battery operated fans and hang them inside with a vent open there is no condensation issues. Jeff Andersen
That's a great tip Franco! Moving the air inside with fans will help reduce the condition in a big way.
masoct3
I might have to try that. I will see about fans at the Ice Show coming up. Also, the Base Camp comes with two cross vents, so maybe that might help out, at least a bit. Thanks,
