Pheasant Opener-Two weeks from tomorrow!

Getting pumped! Two weeks from now I'll be packing the truck and heading for SoDak!! Yes!!!!!!!!!! Lots to do before then - duck hunting the next two weekends, bowhunting inbetween, life is good!

Anyone elso going to be hunting the North Dakota opener this weekend? The car will be packed this Friday and heading to the in-laws house. I must admit Blackjack, that I am having a hard time sleeping because of the excitement. Good luck to all this season and be safe.

I'm not planning on hunting opener because I really have no place to go but I am excited about pheasant. Had my dog at a game farm yesterday and she did real well. Looks like she might be a bird hunter. Really didn't know for sure until yesterday. Doing it again this weekend so hopefully no set backs. Once I'm convinced she's got it I'll start pursueing wild birds in Mn and other states.

I will be hunting NODAK on opener for the first time. Where abouts are you headin? I am going to try SE, but really have no idea. No dog for me, but 3 of my buddies from school and I are gonna stomp around and gett'em up. Good luck to you.

Guys going to ND this weekend, remember you cannot hunt state land (game&fish and plots) this is saved for the residents only until Oct 15th. That is when I am heeded out. Numbers should be very good.

I'm heading to SW North Dakota. In Laws have land their.Was out over Labor Day weekend. weeding the tree lines and surveying the birds. alots out their but, Game and Fish say number down from last year.

My in-laws own a 2,000 acre farm near New Salem. I have been hunting with them for around 6 years. You should have a good time no matter where you go, but usually the further west you get, the better the hunting. This will be the second year with my Weime, so I am extremely excited to get her on some birds again. I also have an 11 year old GSP that I don't know how much longer she will be able to hunt. My cousin was out plantin rice on our newly dug sloughs in the crp last weekend and said he saw 50 birds; half of them roosters. I'm getting pumped. Got the shakes and everything. The Bird #'s aren't down in MN where I'm hunting thats for sure.

Another great opener for our group. The numbers weren't as high as in the past, but the weather sure was beautiful. Our group of 8 ended up with 31 birds for the weekend. Lets just say the shooting was many, but the hitting was few. We had a great time and the population looks fair in our area. Anyone else have a report? Good luck to all

Sitting in a layout blind on many different ponds, you really get a chance to see a lot of nature while waiting for the next flock of ducks/geese. I have seen more pheasants this year than I did last year. Here's to another great year of pheasant hunting.

stillnofish, you must have been hunting in NoDak, the rest of us are impatiently waiting. Give me a week and I'll have a SoDak report for you. I've got piles of clothes and gear around the house, getting the last of the stuff rounded up, can't wait for Sat!!
