here it is, just a week from the start of my 5 day block to chase Mr. Tom, and I haven't bought a single piece of new gear. No call(s), no camo, no nothing.

Just get out and hear one gobble and it'll get you in the mood. I'm lucky in that I've got a flock that roosts within earshot of my house so I get the fever every morning. I've been going through all my gear getting ready for the big day. I leave for Ottumwa Iowa on Wednesday and will be sitting in the woods waiting for a fat Ioweegian tom on Thursday morning. I'm already shaking with excitement!

How's that class of young hunters coming? Did we get them trained right?

My bruddah-in-law in Ncentral Iowa got a jake during the first IA season (resident) but he let the cats eat it because it had two large cuts in the breast. Can you say "got his --- whooped!!", I think you can!

Man, no new gear? C'mon! You know you need to be lugging a 20 lb. bag JUST FOR YOUR CALLS if you want to bag a turkey, don't ye??! I mean, what if you don't have the right tone or pitch that the turkeys are begging for?
