fivebucks
Saw a Robin on Saturday in metro area. I have a feeling it did not fly south this year as opposed to being an early arrival.
DonBo
Not that uncommon. See several in the crab apple trees now and again most winters.
Dotch
Have a feeling you're right about the migration thing. In some of the larger towns have heard reports of them sticking around this winter. Lots of crabapples planted and some are feeding mealworms, and mixes containing berries, etc. Haven't seen any in metropolitan Bugtussle while I'm "working" but doesn't mean they're not here. Their place has lots of cover with a pretty thick woods just to their north. Saw a grackle eating the pheasant corn a few minutes ago here. half-dutch
Robins like crows and some other birds like even snowy owls move south in the winter. What we have around here now are almost certainly robins from farther north.
